Altes Schloss Gaildorf is a historic castle in the center of Gaildorf, Baden-Württemberg, and one of the town’s most recognizable landmarks.

Built on the site of an earlier fortified residence, it was first mentioned in historical records in 1399 and served for around two centuries as the main residence of the Schenken von Limpurg, an influential noble family in the region. Over the centuries, the castle was expanded and remodeled, creating the distinctive complex seen today.

Its impressive half-timbered architecture, twin round towers, and picturesque courtyard featuring decorative wall paintings. Today, the castle is owned by the city of Gaildorf and houses local history exhibits, museum collections, and cultural spaces. Its well-preserved architecture and historical significance make it an important symbol of Gaildorf’s heritage.
