Altes Tucherschloß (Privat)
Simmelsdorf, Germany, Germany
Altes Tucherschloß in Simmelsdorf is a historic castle that originated as a moated manor house in the 14th century. Over the centuries, it passed through the hands of several noble families before being acquired by the influential Tucher family of Nuremberg in the late 16th century, from whom it takes its name. The castle was extensively renovated and remodeled between 1830 and 1841, giving it much of its present appearance. Notable features include its half-timbered upper floor, distinctive corner turrets, and historic staircase tower. The property evolved from a fortified medieval residence surrounded by moats and ponds into a landscaped estate. It is an important cultural monument in the Nürnberger Land region and a lasting symbol of the long connection between Simmelsdorf and the Tucher family.
