Anjarle
Maharashtra, India
Anjarle is a small coastal village in the Dapoli taluka of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra, India, lying on the Konkan coast along the Arabian Sea.
It is known for a quiet, unspoiled beach with clean white sand, coconut groves, and a generally peaceful, less crowded atmosphere compared with more commercial Konkan beaches. The village is also famous for the Kadyawarcha Ganpati temple, a Ganesh shrine perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, which draws both pilgrims and visitors looking for scenic views.
Anjarle functions partly as a tiny port near the mouth of the Jog river and has very basic tourism facilities, with most travelers staying in simple homestays or nearby resorts in Dapoli, Murud, or other nearby towns.
The area is especially popular during the cooler months from October to March, and in recent years it has also gained attention as a nesting site for Olive Ridley turtles, with an annual turtle‑hatchling festival organized on the beach.
