The Apostolic Palace in Vatican City is the official residence of the Pope and the administrative center of the Roman Catholic Church.

Its origins date back to the 4th century when Emperor Constantine commissioned a papal residence near Old St. Peter's Basilica, but the current complex was mainly constructed between the 15th and early 17th centuries under various popes, especially Pope Sixtus V. The palace includes the papal apartments, offices of the Holy See, chapels, the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican Library.

It is renowned for its Renaissance and Baroque architecture, housing famous artworks by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini. The palace serves as both the spiritual headquarters of the Catholic Church and a symbol of its historical and cultural influence. While most popes have lived there, Pope Francis resides in nearby Casa Santa Marta.

The Apostolic Palace remains a central place for religious ceremonies, administration, and a major attraction for pilgrims and tourists worldwide.
