Bagore Ki Haveli
Udaipur, India
Bagore Ki Haveli in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, is an 18th-century mansion built by Amar Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of the Mewar kingdom. It is located on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. The haveli has around 138 rooms featuring traditional architecture with glasswork, murals, and paintings showcasing the rich heritage of the Mewar royalty. It was expanded in 1878 by Maharaj Shakti Singh of Bagore, gaining the name Bagore Ki Haveli.
After India’s independence, the haveli was used to house government employees but fell into neglect until it was restored and transformed into a museum and cultural center. Today, it displays royal costumes, antiques, and art, and hosts traditional Rajasthani dance and music performances in the evenings, making it a significant cultural attraction in Udaipur.
