Barra do Chuí is a small beach resort in the municipality of Santa Vitória do Palmar, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, known for being the southernmost coastal point of the country.

It lies right on the Brazil–Uruguay border, separated from the Uruguayan town of Barra del Chuy by the Chuí Stream, whose mouth forms the southernmost and most western spot of Brazil’s coastline. The area is a quiet beach destination with simple accommodations such as guesthouses and holiday homes, popular for calm seaside stays, fishing, and walks along the beach and the breakwaters that mark the frontier.

A short distance inland, the towns of Chuí (Brazil) and Chuy (Uruguay) create a lively border‑town vibe with shops and duty‑free outlets, so visitors often combine a beach day at Barra do Chuí with shopping and border‑town culture on the same trip.
