Beauchene Island is the southernmost and most isolated island in the Falkland Islands archipelago, lying about 54 kilometers south of the main landmass in the South Atlantic Ocean and politically part of the United Kingdom as a British Overseas Territory.

It is a small, uninhabited island of roughly 1.7 square kilometers, covered mostly in dense tussac grass, with cliffs, boulder beaches, and a natural anchorage on its east side that can only be used in calm weather.

The island is a protected nature reserve, notable for its rich seabird colonies including large numbers of black‑browed albatrosses and rockhopper penguins, as well as other rare species such as Cobb’s wren and several storm‑petrels, and it also supports breeding southern sea lions.

Because of its remoteness and strict landing rules, Beauchene remains largely undisturbed, with no introduced predators, no permanent population, and access limited to those holding special permission from the Falkland Islands Government.
