Winkworth Arboretum near Godalming in Surrey, United Kingdom, is a 120-acre woodland garden created starting in the late 1930s by Dr. Wilfrid Fox, a passionate amateur gardener and physician.

He purchased the land to develop an arboretum focused on creating spectacular autumn colours through extensive planting of maples, oaks, and liquidambars among other trees. The arboretum boasts over 1,000 different species of trees and shrubs, including large collections of azaleas, rhododendrons, and hollies, arranged on scenic slopes around two lakes.

Dr. Fox carefully designed the arboretum to be a living museum of trees, emphasizing plant species that flourish in their native habitats while creating a picturesque landscape with seasonal interest year-round. The property was gifted to the National Trust in 1952 and has since been maintained with help from a small team of gardeners and numerous volunteers. Visitors enjoy walking
