Biały Bór
Poland, Poland
Biały Bór is a small town in northern Poland's West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Szczecinek County, situated between lakes Bielsko and Ławiczka along the Biała River with a population of around 2,200. Founded in the 13th century by noble Sebastian Lubjanski as part of historic Pomerania, it fell under Teutonic Knights' control by 1309, who built a fortification and granted Kulm-law town rights in 1382 at a key crossroads, though a 1408 fire halted early growth with only medieval wall remnants surviving today. Recaptured by Poles during the Thirteen Years' War in 1461 and confirmed Polish until the 1772 First Partition annexed it to Prussia (later Germany until 1945), it endured heavy WWII destruction before postwar revival.
