Blaues Schloss is a striking late Baroque castle in Obernzenn, Bavaria, built by members of the noble Seckendorff family on the site of an older medieval moated fortress. The castle was constructed in several phases between 1696 and 1758 and served as the residence of prominent diplomats and military officials connected to the royal courts of Berlin, Vienna, Ansbach, and Bayreuth. Known for its distinctive blue façade, the castle features elegant stucco-decorated rooms, a grand staircase, a festive hall, and a historic picture gallery displaying family portraits from the 17th and 18th centuries. The surrounding grounds include landscaped gardens, sandstone sculptures, and a historic iron bridge. Today, Blaues Schloss is one of Obernzenn’s most important cultural landmarks.
