Boliviamar
Peru, Peru
Boliviamar is a 5 km stretch of sandy Pacific coastline south of Ilo in Peru's Moquegua region, ceded to Bolivia in 1992 by presidents Alberto Fujimori and Jaime Paz Zamora for 99 renewable years as a diplomatic gesture addressing Bolivia's landlocked status after losing its coast in the 19th-century War of the Pacific.
Limited to tourism and cultural use rather than commercial port development, this largely undeveloped enclave includes a rusted monument and basic beach access but remains under Peruvian administration until Bolivia assumes control, sitting about 17 km from Ilo with minimal infrastructure amid desert slopes.
The agreement also grants Bolivia a free trade zone at Ilo's port, though the site sees little development despite periodic revival efforts.
