The BREC Laurens Henry Cohn, Sr. Memorial Plant Arboretum is a beautifully landscaped 16-acre wooded area in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, dedicated to the preservation and study of native and adaptable plants.

It features over 300 species of trees and shrubs, a fruit orchard, butterfly garden, bamboo collection, and water features including ponds and lakes. The property was originally the Cohn family home, donated to BREC in 1965 in memory of Laurens Henry Cohn Sr., a nature lover and World War I veteran, and opened to the public in 1980.

Visitors can enjoy paved walking trails, diverse plant collections such as Japanese maples, camellias, and Louisiana irises, as well as bird watching and art opportunities. The arboretum also includes a museum in the original Cohn home, a teaching garden for children with disabilities, and offers guided tours by request. It is a peaceful place for relaxation, education, and appreciation of nature's beauty.
