Brincka Cross Gardens
Indiana, United States
Brincka Cross Gardens in Indiana is a stunning 61-acre sanctuary located near the Indiana Dunes National Park, created by artist Bill Brincka and his partner Basil Cross.
They spent over 45 years designing and nurturing four acres of formal gardens featuring more than 400 varieties of hostas, over 200 types of daffodils, numerous crabapple trees, magnolias, and a diverse collection of flowers, shrubs, and trees. Surrounding the cultivated gardens are 21 acres of pristine woodlands with hiking trails that offer a peaceful natural retreat. The property includes a unique mid-century modern home inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, where the couple lived.
Now owned by Porter County Parks and Recreation, the gardens have been lovingly restored to maintain their original beauty and are open to the public from dawn to dusk. The gardens are also available for special events, making them a cherished blend of art, nature, and history.
