Burg Hohenbeilstein is a historic hilltop castle overlooking the town of Beilstein in Baden-Württemberg.

Its origins date back to the 11th century, although the oldest surviving parts of the castle were built in the 13th century. Over time, it passed through the hands of several noble families before becoming an important stronghold of Württemberg. The castle was damaged during various conflicts, including the German Peasants’ War in 1525 and the Palatine War of Succession in the late 17th century.

Despite these setbacks, significant parts of the fortifications, including the keep, ring walls, and defensive structures, have survived or been restored. Today, Burg Hohenbeilstein is one of the region’s most recognizable landmarks, surrounded by vineyards and offering impressive views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the historic grounds, and the site also features a falconry and other attractions that bring its medieval heritage to life.
