Burg Meersburg, also known as the Old Castle of Meersburg, is a large medieval hilltop fortress on the northern shore of Lake Constance in the town of Meersburg, Baden‑Württemberg, Germany.

It is considered the oldest inhabited castle in Germany, with core parts dating back to the 7th century, and later expanded under the rule of the prince‑bishops of Constance, who used it as a key administrative seat for centuries. The complex includes a striking Merovingian tower known as Dagobert’s Tower, a long main building with richly furnished historic rooms, a kitchen wing, and a dungeon, and it has never been stormed or destroyed.

Today Burg Meersburg operates as a museum and cultural site, open to the public year‑round with guided and self‑guided tours, themed events, and a café offering panoramic views over the lake and the old town.
