Burg Neipperg
Brackenheim, Germany, Germany
Burg Neipperg is a historic hilltop castle overlooking the village of Neipperg, part of Brackenheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Originating in the 12th century, it has been the ancestral seat of the noble Neipperg family for more than 800 years and remains closely associated with them today. The castle developed from two originally separate fortified sections, each with its own defensive tower, and was gradually expanded throughout the Middle Ages.
Over time, it evolved from a military stronghold into a more residential estate while retaining many of its medieval features. Today, Burg Neipperg stands amid vineyards on the slopes of the Heuchelberg and is one of the region’s most recognizable landmarks. Although privately owned, its impressive towers and historic architecture make it an important symbol of local history and the long-standing legacy of the Counts of Neipperg.
