Burg Obernheim
Obernheim, Germany, Germany
Burg Obernheim, also known as Burgbühl, is a vanished medieval castle site on a hilltop called Burgbühl about 40 meters above the surrounding high plateau near the village of Obernheim in the Zollernalbkreis of Baden‑Württemberg, Germany.
It is believed to have been built in the mid‑13th century by the local lower‑noble von Obernheim family as a small hilltop fortress overlooking the Swabian Jura landscape. Nothing of the original structure remains above ground today; the site is now classified as a Burgstall, meaning only the flat, roughly 80 by 130 meter terrain of the former castle platform is visible, with no standing walls or towers.
The spot offers open views over the surrounding countryside and is mainly of interest to local history enthusiasts and hikers rather than as a major public tourist monument.
