Burg Wildenau is a medieval hilltop castle located on a rocky spur above the Schlattein valley near the village of Wildenau in the town of Plößberg in the Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalz), Bavaria, Germany.

The fortress was originally built around the year 1100 by the counts of Sulzbach and later came into the hands of the Staufer dynasty, serving as a strategic point along the important medieval trading route known as the “Goldene Straße” between Nuremberg and Prague. The castle was destroyed during the Hussite Wars in the early 15th century, partially rebuilt, and gradually fell into disrepair, with the northern section collapsing in 1982 before the entire complex was bought and restored in the 1990s by a private owner.

Today the Burg Wildenau is a privately owned and partly residential complex, with a historic chapel that has been restored and the site occasionally opened for events and guided tours rather than as a year‑round public museum.
