Burgruine Hurwang, also known as Burg Furtheim, is the remains of a medieval hilltop castle located near the Mergelstetten district of Heidenheim an der Brenz in Baden-Württemberg.

The castle was likely built around the 12th century near the now-lost settlement of Furtheim and occupied a strategic position above the Brenz Valley, possibly to protect a crossing over the river. The fortress is first connected to historical records in 1209 through references to Ulricus von Furtheim. It appears to have been abandoned or destroyed relatively early, as it was already described as a ruin, or “burgstall,” by 1358.

The exact circumstances of its disappearance remain unknown. Today, only a few stone foundations, wall remnants, ditches, and earthworks survive, but the outlines of the former main castle and outer defenses can still be recognized. The site is valued as an important archaeological monument and offers visitors a glimpse into the medieval history of the Heidenheim region.
