Burgruine Niederhaus is a well-preserved medieval castle ruin near Ederheim in Bavaria, Germany. Built in the 12th century as the ancestral seat of the noble Lords of Hürnheim, the fortress occupies a dramatic rocky ridge above the Kartäusertal and was an important defensive stronghold in the region. The castle was expanded during the Middle Ages and survived several periods of conflict, including damage during the late medieval era and the Thirty Years’ War. Today, significant remains can still be seen, including the imposing keep, sections of the palace, defensive walls, towers, and large earthworks. Now maintained as a historic monument, Burgruine Niederhaus is one of the most impressive castle ruins in the Nördlinger Ries region.
