Burgruine Wielandstein is a group of medieval castle ruins located on a rocky ridge above the Tobel Valley near Oberlenningen, part of Lenningen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The site originally consisted of several connected castles, including Alt-Wielandstein, Hinterer Wielandstein, Mittlerer Wielandstein, Zwischen-Wielandstein, and Vorderer Wielandstein, making it one of the more unusual castle complexes in the region. The first fortifications were built around 1150 and were associated with the Lords of Wielandstein, who served the Dukes of Teck.

Over time, the castles were expanded and modified, but most were abandoned or fell into decline during the late Middle Ages. The remaining stronghold was destroyed during the German Peasants’ War in 1525, and its stones were later reused for other building projects. Today, visitors can explore the preserved ruins, which were excavated and stabilized in the 1970s.

Surrounded by forests and dramatic limestone cliffs, the site offers scenic hiking opportunities and impressive views of the Swabian Alb landscape, making it a popular destination for history enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers.
