Opened to the public in 1958, the park offers a rich blend of history, nature, and recreation. It features the First Division Museum, which honors the legacy of the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division with interactive exhibits and a vast collection of military artifacts.

The park boasts nearly 30 acres of beautifully designed formal and informal gardens created by landscape architect Franz Lipp, showcasing seasonal floral displays and themed plantings. Visitors can enjoy walking trails, picnic areas with playgrounds, an education center, and a large golf complex with 27 scenic holes and a golf academy.

Cantigny Park is both a historical site and a community space for outdoor activities, education, and special events, welcoming more than 400,000 visitors each year. The park underwent a significant revitalization to enhance visitor experience while preserving its cultural and natural beauty.​
