Daberturm is a historic tower and visitor attraction located in the Alt Daber district of Wittstock/Dosse, Brandenburg, near the edge of the Wittstock Heath. Originally part of a border and watch station between Brandenburg and Mecklenburg, the tower played a role in monitoring the area and controlling movement through the heath. Today, the tower houses an interactive exhibition known as “Wächter der Heide” (“Guardians of the Heath”), which introduces visitors to the natural and cultural history of the Wittstock Heath. Exhibits focus on local wildlife, plants, fossils, minerals, and the area's history, with hands-on displays, sounds, and stories that make the experience engaging for all ages. Surrounded by scenic countryside along the Daberbach stream, the site also includes a herb garden, boulder garden, and nearby hiking and walking trails. Daberturm is a popular starting point for exploring the heath and learning about one of Brandenburg’s most distinctive natural landscapes.
