Lebanon, Lebanon
Deir Kifa is a village located in the Tyre District of Southern Lebanon, situated about 540 meters above sea level and roughly 107 kilometers southwest of Beirut.
The name means "The convent of Kifa," referring to Saint Peter, and the village has a population of around five thousand people, with many living abroad in countries like Brazil, the United States, and Germany. Historically, the village sits on a high hill that features the ruins of Maroun Castle, a Crusader-era fortress built on top of a Phoenician base, known for its defensive walls, circular towers, and ancient cisterns.
