Mount Lebanon is a prominent mountain range in Lebanon that stretches about 170 kilometers parallel to the Mediterranean coast, with an average elevation above 2,500 meters.

Its highest peak, Qurnat as Sawda', rises to 3,088 meters and is known for substantial snowfall and an alpine climate. This mountain range forms a natural barrier between the coastal plain and the Beqaa Valley to the east. The terrain includes steep slopes, deep gorges, and is rich in limestone and sandstone formations. The area is historically significant, with the famous Cedars of Lebanon groves found on its western slopes.

Mount Lebanon is also home to various plateaus and diverse ecosystems, making it a striking geographic and cultural landmark in the country. The range plays an important role in Lebanon’s climate and agricultural patterns, with many rivers flowing from its heights into the Mediterranean Sea.
