Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland, serving as the ancestral home of the MacLeod clan for over 800 years.

Originally built as a fortified site in the 13th century, the castle features architectural elements from multiple periods, including a 14th-century tower house, the 16th-century Fairy Tower, and additions from the 17th century and Victorian-era restorations.

The castle is situated on a rocky promontory overlooking Loch Dunvegan and is known for its impressive curtain wall, defensive battlements, and a drawbridge that leads to the entrance. Inside, visitors can see historic state rooms, clan relics such as the Fairy Flag, and the tomb of Alasdair Crotach MacLeod.
