Edinburgh-Palais
Coburg, Germany, Germany
Edinburgh-Palais is a prominent Neo-Renaissance palace located on Schlossplatz in Coburg, Bavaria, directly opposite Ehrenburg Palace.
Originally built between 1845 and 1846 for Baron Karl August von Wangenheim, it later became closely associated with Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, the second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. After purchasing the building in 1865, Prince Alfred expanded and remodeled it, turning it into his residence in Coburg.
The palace became an important gathering place for European royalty and is linked to the town’s strong connections with many royal families across Europe. Today, the Edinburgh-Palais remains one of Coburg’s most notable historic buildings.
