The current gardens cover about 15 acres and are considered among the finest in southeastern England, featuring formal terraces, a box parterre, a woodland garden, and an arboretum with mature trees.

The landscape has evolved since the 18th century, blending classical design with naturalistic elements, and includes walled gardens with ornamental and kitchen plantings.
