Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona is a breathtaking natural wonder that defies superlatives. Carved over millions of years by the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon stretches 277 miles long, plunges over a mile deep, and spans up to 18 miles across, revealing a kaleidoscope of layered rock that tells a story nearly two billion years in the making.

Designated a national park in 1919 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, the park covers more than 1.2 million acres and welcomes millions of visitors each year. The South Rim is the most accessible and popular area, offering iconic viewpoints like Mather Point and Desert View, while the more remote North Rim provides a quieter, more rugged experience.

Activities range from scenic drives and rim hikes to whitewater rafting, mule rides, and stargazing under some of the darkest skies in the U.S. The park is also home to diverse wildlife, including bighorn sheep, elk, and the endangered California condor.
