Gresgarth Hall Gardens in Lancashire, England, surround a 14th-century Gothic-style hall that has served as a private residence since 1978 for renowned Italian-born landscape designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd and her family, who began transforming the neglected, overgrown site into a 10-acre masterpiece starting in 1980.

Nestled in a steep valley flanked by hills along Artle Beck, the gardens blend formal Italian elegance with British romanticism, featuring a greatly enlarged reflective lily pond mirroring the house and blossom trees, double herbaceous borders framed by yew hedges, stone terraces, intimate winding paths with wisteria-draped "theatres," and a kitchen garden linked by wavy beech hedging.

Across the beck lies an expansive woodland arboretum on rising slopes with rare specimen trees including 200 magnolias, the National Collection of Styracaceae plants, drifts of rhododendrons, daphnes, and cherries, plus sculptures, an old mill café, and naturalistic wild borders sheltering from winds, all open to visitors one Sunday monthly from February to November.
