Gwydir Castle is a historic Tudor mansion set just outside the town of Llanrwst in Conwy County, North Wales, standing in about 10 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland.

Originally built in the late 15th century as the ancestral home of the powerful Wynn family, it is regarded as one of the finest Tudor houses in Wales and is now a Grade I listed building. The site has medieval roots, with fortifications on the same land since the 6th century, and the present structure combines late‑medieval masonry with later 16th‑ and 17th‑century additions, giving it a grand yet slightly irregular, “estate‑home” feel.

Today the castle is privately owned and restored, opened seasonally for guided tours, bed‑and‑breakfast stays, and small events, known for its authentic interiors, moody atmosphere, roaming peacocks, and beautiful views toward the surrounding Conwy Valley and Snowdonia.
