Hegyfalu is a small village in Vas County in western Hungary, located near the Répce River and close to the towns of Sárvár and Szombathely.

Its convenient position along major road and rail routes makes it an important local transport hub despite its rural character. The village has a long history and was first mentioned in written records in 1337, although its origins are believed to be much older. Local tradition suggests that King Béla I of Hungary may have died here in 1063, giving the area historical significance.

Hegyfalu is known for landmarks such as the Széchenyi Castle, the Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and a postcard museum that reflects local cultural heritage. Today, Hegyfalu is a quiet residential community with a population of around 700 people, offering a peaceful countryside setting while remaining well connected to the rest of western Hungary.
