Helfenstein Castle is a medieval castle ruin located on a rocky hill above Geislingen an der Steige in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Built around 1100, it served as the ancestral seat of the Counts of Helfenstein and was strategically positioned to oversee important trade and travel routes through the Fils Valley. In the late 14th century, the castle came under the control of the Imperial City of Ulm, which expanded it into a powerful fortress with additional walls, towers, and defensive structures.

After being briefly captured during a conflict in 1552, the fortress was retaken and subsequently demolished, leaving the ruins that remain today. Today, visitors can explore preserved sections of the castle walls, courtyards, and cisterns, as well as enjoy panoramic views over Geislingen and the surrounding Swabian Alb landscape.
