Helmingham Hall is a moated Tudor manor house in the village of Helmingham, a few miles north of Stowmarket in Suffolk, set within a 400-acre deer park and still owned by the Tollemache family who built it in the late 15th century.

The double‑moated brick hall dates from around 1480–1510, retains two working drawbridges, and contains rare historic treasures such as one of only two English orpharion viols, traditionally linked to a visit by Queen Elizabeth I. The surrounding gardens are Grade I listed and include formal rose and knot gardens, herbaceous borders, a parterre, and an orchard, with much of the planting shaped by the celebrated garden‑designer Lady Xa Tollemache.

The wider park is home to herds of red and fallow deer living in a semi‑wild setting, and the gardens are open to the public seasonally, offering a peaceful, old‑world escape with tea rooms, shops, and occasional events in the rolling Suffolk countryside.
