Herrentierbach is a small village in the municipality of Blaufelden in the Schwäbisch Hall district of Baden-Württemberg, located in the scenic Hohenlohe region.
Home to around 400 residents, it is surrounded by farmland and includes the nearby hamlets of Alkertshausen, Geroldshausen, Kottmannsweiler, and Simmetshausen. The village has a long history and was first mentioned in written records in 1156. Its name comes from the Lords of Tierbach, a noble family who built a castle overlooking the settlement.
The castle was destroyed by forces from Rothenburg around the 14th or 15th century, and today only traces of its defensive ditches remain. Today, Herrentierbach is known for its peaceful rural atmosphere and strong agricultural traditions. The village’s restored community center, which hosts cultural events and concerts, serves as an important gathering place and reflects the community’s active local life.
