Hodnet Hall
UK, United Kingdom
Hodnet Hall, located in the village of Hodnet near Market Drayton in Shropshire, England, UK, is a neo-Elizabethan mansion rebuilt in 1870 by architect Anthony Salvin on the site of an earlier timber-framed manor house owned by the Vernon family for 250 years before passing to the Heber-Percy family in 1752, whose descendants still own it today.
The estate is renowned for its stunning 1920s gardens featuring a chain of seven cascading pools, herbaceous borders, woodland walks, rare trees, rhododendrons, and a kitchen garden, all set within remnants of a historic deer park once linked to Hodnet Castle.
Open to visitors seasonally, it offers peaceful trails, vibrant floral displays, and historical charm, with the hall itself used as a hospital during the world wars and privately maintained since.
