Jaco Island is an uninhabited limestone island located off the eastern tip of Timor-Leste in the Lautém Municipality.
It covers an area of about 11 square kilometers and features tropical dry forest, strand vegetation, and white sandy beaches with some low cliffs along the southern coast. The island is part of the Nino Konis Santana National Park and is considered sacred by local communities.
It lies just across a narrow channel from Valu Beach on the mainland and is known for being where the Timor Sea and Banda Sea are believed to meet, creating rich marine biodiversity in its surrounding waters. Jaco Island's pristine beaches and clear waters make it a secluded and undisturbed natural sanctuary ideal for snorkeling, swimming, and exploring lush greenery.
