Jagdschloss Grunewald is the oldest surviving palace building in Berlin, located on the shore of Grunewaldsee in the city's southwest.

Built in 1542–1543 for Elector Joachim II of Brandenburg, it is a rare example of Renaissance architecture and is the only hunting lodge from his era that still exists today. Originally constructed as a royal hunting retreat in the forests outside Berlin, the palace was later redesigned with Baroque elements in the early 18th century under King Frederick I.

Despite these changes, important Renaissance features and Berlin’s only surviving Renaissance palace hall have been preserved. Today, the palace operates as a museum managed by the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation. It is especially known for its collection of paintings by Lucas Cranach the Elder and his workshop, as well as exhibits on courtly hunting traditions, offering visitors a fascinating glimpse into the history of Brandenburg-Prussia.
