It lies in a rural coastal area that was historically used during the 1930 Salt Satyagraha, and traces of old salt pans can still be seen nearby. The site has few formal facilities, with little to no food vendors or lifeguard services, making it better suited for visitors who bring their own supplies and are comfortable with a simpler, less developed beach atmosphere.
