Karksi Order Castle Ruins are the remains of a medieval Livonian Order fortress located in Karksi-Nuia, southern Estonia.

The site was originally an ancient Estonian hillfort before becoming a major fortified center of the Livonian Order during the 13th and 14th centuries, serving both military and administrative purposes in the region. Over the centuries, the castle was repeatedly damaged and rebuilt during conflicts involving Lithuanians, Livonian forces, and other powers. 

Once considered one of the strongest fortresses in southern Estonia, it eventually fell into ruin, leaving behind impressive stone walls and earthworks that still reflect its former importance. Today, the ruins stand in the scenic Karksi Valley, one of the most picturesque areas of Viljandi County. Visitors can explore the historic remains, enjoy the surrounding natural landscape, and see nearby landmarks such as St. Peter’s Church, which was built within the ruins in the 18th century.
