Killerton House
Exeter, United Kingdom, United Kingdom
Killerton House is an 18th‑century Georgian country house set in a large hillside estate near Broadclyst, just outside Exeter in Devon, England, now owned and run by the National Trust.
It was built in the late 1770s as a comfortable family home for the Acland baronets and is displayed today as a relaxed, lived‑in residence rather than a formal stately home. The house is particularly known for its extensive fashion collection, one of the largest in the UK, with thousands of historic garments and accessories from the 17th to the 20th century exhibited in rotating displays on the first floor.
The property sits within a 2,600‑hectare landscape of parkland, woods, and farmland, with a hillside garden featuring rhododendrons, magnolias, and rare trees, as well as walking trails and a small chapel, making it a popular destination for both history and garden lovers near Exeter.
