Kryłów is a small village in eastern Poland's Lublin Voivodeship, in Hrubieszów County within Gmina Mircze, situated on a natural island in the Bug River near the Ukrainian border, with settlement roots tracing to a 10th-century gród likely part of the Red Ruthenian strongholds.

Granted town rights around 1497-1523 by Mikołaj Tęczyński, who began constructing a stone castle as a defensive outpost against Tatar raids, it flourished under noble families like Ostrorogs, Radziejowskis, and Prażmowskis, hosting events such as King Jan Kazimierz's 1651 stay and hosting a Calvinist church and school before converting to Catholic in 1635.

The castle, expanded in the 17th century, suffered destruction from Swedish and Cossack invasions, falling into ruin by the late 18th century after Austrian and later Russian partitions, leaving today only earthen ramparts, wall fragments, and a massive brick bastion amid a landscape of scenic river views and local legends.
