Laft Castle is a historic fortress located in the ancient port town of Laft on Qeshm Island in Iran’s Hormozgan Province.

The castle is generally associated with the Qajar period and was built to help protect the strategically important waters of the Persian Gulf and the nearby Khuran Strait. The fortress features a square layout with defensive walls and towers, reflecting the traditional military architecture used along Iran’s southern coast.

Its position overlooking maritime routes highlights Laft’s long history as a center of trade, navigation, and coastal defense. Today, Laft Castle is one of the notable historical landmarks of Qeshm Island. Although parts of the structure are in ruins, it remains an important symbol of the region’s cultural heritage and offers visitors insight into the history of Laft, one of the oldest settlements in the Persian Gulf.
