Landsöhr Castle
Bad Boll, Germany, Germany
Landsöhr Castle, also known as Burg Landsöhr, Landseer Castle, or Bertaburg, was a hilltop spur castle located on the Kornberg near Bad Boll in Baden-Württemberg.
Making it a “lost castle” site, with only earthworks and shallow depressions marking its former location. Historians believe the site may have originated as a Celtic refuge fort long before the medieval period. Local tradition also associates it with Berta von Boll, the sister of King Conrad III, who is said to have used it as her residence in the 12th century.
Situated high above the surrounding landscape, the castle once occupied a strategic position with commanding views of the region. Today, it is valued mainly as an archaeological and historical site, offering visitors a glimpse into the area's early medieval and possibly even prehistoric past.
