Langenburg Castle
Langenburg, Germany, Germany
Langenburg Castle is a magnificent hilltop castle overlooking the Jagst Valley in the town of Langenburg, Baden-Württemberg.
First recorded in the 13th century, it became the residence of the noble House of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, which still owns and occupies the castle today. Originally built as a medieval fortress, the castle was transformed over the centuries into an elegant princely residence. Its architecture combines medieval fortifications, Renaissance courtyards and galleries, and later Baroque additions, reflecting hundreds of years of development.
Today, Langenburg Castle is one of the most important landmarks in the Hohenlohe region. Visitors can explore parts of the castle, its museum and chapel, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from its dramatic position above the valley.
