Madhavpur Beach
Gujarat, India
Madhavpur Beach is a long, scenic stretch of sand on the Arabian Sea coast in the Porbandar district of Gujarat, India, about 55–60 kilometers from the city of Porbandar.
It is known for its clean, wide shoreline, calm blue waters, and coconut‑lined coast, giving it a peaceful, resort‑like feel while still remaining relatively low‑key and less commercial than major tourist beaches. The beach is culturally significant as the nearby town of Madhavpur is linked to the belief that Lord Krishna married Rukmini here, and this legend is celebrated every year at the Madhavpur Mela.
The area also hosts turtle‑conservation efforts for Green Sea and Olive Ridley turtles, and visitors can enjoy water sports, beach scooters, camel and horse rides, and sunset views rather than heavy swimming, since the water is generally considered unsafe for that.
