The Marsh Botanical Garden is an eight-acre botanical garden and arboretum located on the Yale University campus in New Haven, Connecticut.
Established in 1899 with the bequest of the estate and plant collections of paleontologist Othniel Charles Marsh, the garden features six greenhouses that house collections of cacti, insectivorous plants, orchids, and other species. Originally designed in part by landscape architect Beatrix Farrand in the 1920s and '30s, the garden includes both temperate outdoor plantings and tropical collections under glass.
The garden serves as a research and educational resource for Yale students and faculty, while also offering a peaceful public green space where visitors can enjoy seasonal displays of wildflowers, flowering trees, and colorful foliage. It supports conservation efforts by maintaining rare and endangered plant species and hosts a variety of programs to promote environmental awareness and learning.
