Miami Beach Botanical Garden
Miami Beach, Florida, United States
Miami Beach Botanical Garden, founded in 1962 and located on a historic site along Collins Canal in the heart of Miami Beach, spans about 2.6 acres and was originally part of a golf course and avocado and mango orchards.
Over the years, the garden experienced decline due to economic and natural setbacks, but it was revitalized in 2011 through a $1.2 million landscape renovation led by acclaimed local landscape architect Raymond Jungles.
The garden showcases tropical and native Florida plants including over 100 species of palms, orchids, bromeliads, and cycads. It features a Japanese garden with a signature bridge, native plant garden, water gardens with ponds and fountains, and artistic elements blending nature and culture.
Operated as a public-private partnership, the garden is a vibrant urban oasis offering environmental education, cultural programming, and a peaceful retreat for both residents and tourists appreciating Florida’s botanical heritage.
