Międzygórz
Poland, Poland
Międzygórze is a charming mountain resort village in southwestern Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within Kłodzko County and Gmina Bystrzyca Kłodzka, nestled in a narrow valley of the Wilczka and Bogorya streams at the foot of Igliczna peak in the Śnieżnik Massif.
Founded around 1580 as a settlement for hunters, woodcutters, and charcoal burners in the historic Kłodzko County (formerly part of Bohemia), it transformed in 1838 under Princess Marianne of Orange Nassau, who bought nearby estates, developed it into a spa with pensions, the Wilczki Waterfall, and the Śnieżnik shelter.
With about 400 residents, it offers hiking amid Sudeten scenery, a 1740s St. Joseph Church, and post-1945 Polish resettlement after German expulsion, retaining its quiet, forested appeal today.
