Monbijoupark
Berlin, Germany, Germany
Monbijoupark is a popular public park in the Mitte district of central Berlin, located along the River Spree near Museum Island, the Bode Museum, and Hackescher Markt. Covering about four hectares, it serves as a green escape in the heart of the city and is known for its lawns, riverside walkways, playgrounds, and relaxing atmosphere. The park stands on the former grounds of Monbijou Palace, a royal residence that was heavily damaged during World War II and demolished in 1959. The area was later transformed into a public park and was extensively redesigned between 2006 and 2008 to create more open spaces and improve access to the river. Today, Monbijoupark is a favorite gathering place for both locals and visitors. Its central location, scenic views of Museum Island, and mix of recreation, culture, and green space make it one of Berlin’s most enjoyable urban parks.
